SARGODHA: Pak-China friendship is unaffected by any political changes, said University of Sargodha Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Akram Chaudhry.
He was addressing a one-day international conference on “Pakistan-China Strategic Partnership: Prospects and Challenges in 21st century” in the university here on Tuesday. He said that there was a great need to open new windows towards the east because the future of Pakistan would be integrated with eastern states. He that said a new department of Chinese Language and Literature would be established in the university. Strong factor behind Pakistan-China friendship is that the two countries have similar views and outlook on regional and global issues of peace and security. Our friendship is time-tested and higher than mountains and deeper than oceans, Prof Dr Muhammad Akram said. Recalling histories of both countries, the vice-chancellor said that Pakistan and China laid the foundation of their friendship by signing the agreements on the demarcation of their borders and starting air services. He said: “The sustaining factor behind Pakistan-China friendship is that the two countries have similar views and outlook on regional and global issues of peace and security. Close friendship between two neighboring states is based on the fact that two countries face similar problems of socio-economic development and poverty.”
